Anecdotes: This is another game that’s making me seriously consider using a “Disappointing Sequels” tag. For some reason, there are a lot of these. I understand having to make some changes to set it apart from the originals, but sometimes they go too far with it, and so things like SimCity 2000 appear.

Description: Taking over as mayor, players must build a city and try to attract people to live in it.

Positives: The system has been expanded from the first game. Cities can now build streets to other cities, and the game has added new features, such as water management. This all sounds great, until players realize that…

Negatives: …they overcomplicated everything. There are now five options under Rail, for example. There’s just way too much to absorb, and it doesn’t help that the game doesn’t really offer any kind of tutorial. Therefore, I accomplished very little.

Screenshots:

Even the game knew I fell asleep.
Yeah, this makes sense.
Of course there’s no crime in my city. My population was 0!

Final Opinion: I was bored. Still am.

Progress: Can’t grow a bleeping thing

Grade: D
