Description: Sonic and Tails are zooming around various settings trying to get from one end to the other. Along the way, there are various puzzles and speed boosters.

Positives: It appears the platforming nonsense has been toned down from the first game; there aren’t as many traps and there are plenty of unique ways to fly all over the screen. The game also allows players the option to play as Tails.

Negatives: It still has the same major problems that all of the Genesis platformers I’ve reviewed have had so far. It’s excessively difficult and continues are either limited or nonexistent. This makes the game no fun to play because the majority of time will be used playing the first level repeatedly.

I like that city background there. Level 2 takes place at night.
Yes, it’s quite fun to pinball around the screen in a tube.

Final Opinion: Sega reduced the number of cheap traps from the first game, plus they added the ability to choose characters, but I really didn’t see enough to bump the grade up.

Grade: C
