Mega Man X

Capcom really needs to get out of the business of torturing people.

Anecdotes: I was only planning to do the original Mega Man titles, all the way up to 11. However, I had heard some things about Mega Man X and I thought I’d give it a try. They said it’s a great game and that I’d like it. They were a bunch of liars.

Description: It’s Mega Man. It hasn’t changed a bit.

Positives: Wall jumping is a thing now. Mega Man can now use walls to jump higher. There were a couple of places where I had to use it, so it’s a required skill.

Negatives: My tolerance for this crap is wearing thin. I’ve had it with the cheap traps, the impossible bosses, enemies that only exist to knock me down holes, and low energy bars. It’s just obnoxious. At least, in Mega Man, Mega Man had a health bar equal to the bosses. Here, he gets a tiny health bar. Honestly, I have no idea what sets this aside from the other Mega Man games. The character looks the same. The gameplay seems the same, but I did get some dialogue to allegedly gain speed. I’ll just go back to the classic Mega Man, thanks.

Screenshots:

Why is it that video game roads always have massive holes in them?
Speaking of worthless pieces of scrap metal, where’s my cartridge for this game?
Hey, I can choose what order I want my pain to happen in.
Oh, here’s a cheap trap. I was blown onto the spikes a few times.
Thanks for the speed, not that it helped.
That’s the Chill Penguin. I don’t even know how I made it here.

Final Opinion: My head hurts. I need some Tylenol.

Grade: D
